Want to enjoy walks again?

You’ve watched dozens of YouTube videos. You’ve tried all the harnesses and collars your dog-loving friends have recommended. You’ve offered your dog the best treats to distract them from that dog on the other side of the street.

Nothing has worked.

Your dog is a honeybun at home, but on your walks, other people only see a barking, lunging maniac. You’re tired of the looks and comments from passersby. Walking your dog at 10:00 at night to avoid all the neighborhood dogs is wearing you out.

When dogs don’t have skills for dealing with their big feelings, chaos ensues.

Want your dog to walk down the street calmly?

Want to pass that house with the barking dogs
without any reaction from your own dog?

How about hiking on the pet trail together
and enjoying the scenery?

We can get you there.

We’re experts on dog reactivity, and it’s our favorite behavior to work with; we’ve lived with, loved and worked with reactive dogs all over Columbus for more than twenty-five years.

There’s no need to send your dog away to a “board and train” facility that locks them into a kennel and uses a shock collar to frighten your dog into submission. Instead, we’ll teach real-world skills right in your own home and neighborhood, so that your dog is practicing where all the problems are…and they’re waiting for you, content and worn out, when your workday is over.

This is why we only offer day training for dog-reactive dogs: we have the expertise and hands-on skills to install new behaviors so that you can see results, fast. And we’ll transfer those skills to you so you can finally enjoy a relaxing walk with your dog!

“We reached out to The Collegiate Canine for assistance with our reactive and not so great on recall Beagle, Linus.

With the help of Amy and The Collegiate Canine, we were able to get Linus to drop what ever he was doing and focus on his humans. A couple of amazing examples!

Immediate recall and race to the door when busted dining on rabbit caviar!

We had an Uber Eats delivery, and Linus ran to drivers car (shame on us for letting him get out) but OMG RECALL! Back in the house quickly and safe with an amazing stash of treats!

Overall, Linus is doing amazing and we are practicing all of the training tips you shared with us!”
